The year 2009 for the German machinery and plant engineering had been one of the worst since decades. Especially the producers of woodworking machinery had to face a dramatic decline of sales. Their turnover in 2009 was reduced by 42 percent compared with the previous year.
On February 12th, a preparatory meeting took place at the headquarters of Group GARNICA Plywood in Logroño, organized by USSE (Southern Europe Forest Owners Union) and PRO-POPULUS (European Association for the promotion of Poplar).

On 19-21 March 2010 will be the fifth edition of the DREWOOD Fair. This event is bringing together representatives of the timber industry at home and abroad.
DREWOOD 2010 will be held traditionally in Wroclaw Centennial Hall, in parallel with the building Fair TARBUD.
The idea of the coexistence of both events is great for longer than three years.
